Time HealsAnd so it's finished
No applause behind the tattered curtain
Muffled footfalls are all that's left
In silence even that may choose to fade
My aching ears receive the faintest sound
Of a wounded heart halfway sundered
In such a short interval
Relief gently shaping the sutures
Faith closing a painful gash on the soul
Grief quietly agonizes
Bleeding tears of shattered loss
And perplexing joy
Already coming to terms with their absence
Even though there'd been no reason to depart
Negotiation had been an option
Apparently it was the lesser of two evils
It cannot be taken back
Carelessly thrown away
That's just how it goes
The gra
FrayedThe threads were frayed
Split painfully at their ragged extremities
They were raw
Aching
Like the sobs of a small child
Sometimes more agony is needed
To alleviate what hurts
A wicked flame to cauterize wounds that go deep
Only then can the body be healed
The mind a different matter
It isn't well known what can heal the soul
Sources of malcontent aren't always as obvious
What eases it can be surprising
As simple as a memory
Or as complex as a person
To each his own
